MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo junior Briana Marquez tied her career high with 55 assists as four Falcons finished with double-digit kills in the Falcons' 3-1 win over visiting USC Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference match Oct. 4.
Marquez also recorded 14 digs as she posted her ninth double-double of the season for the Falcons, who improved to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in Peach Belt Conference play after knocking off the Pacers 23-25, 25-21, 29-27, 25-19.
Freshman Kristy Bohan paced the Falcons with 16 kills after hitting a team-best .484 in the victory, while junior Rebekah Phelps and sophomore Chandler Cooper contributed 14 kills each. Phelps registered 15 digs as she posted her seventh double-double of the season.
Senior Katie Best added 10 kills, while fellow senior Sarah Guidry finished with eight kills and 11 digs.
Junior Carissa Bell, the conference's leader in total digs, paced the Falcons with 20 digs. Fellow junior Nicole Holton chipped in 10 digs.
The Falcons return to action Tuesday, Oct. 7 with a trip to Columbus, Ga. to face Columbus State University in a Peach Belt Conference match.
