DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Wednesday night's game between the University of Montevallo men's soccer team and the University of North Georgia ended in a 1-0 victory for the Nighthawks.
North Georgia got on the board early on in the first half, striking at 12:14. Eric Carrion netted his third goal of the year for the Nighthawks after he received a ball in the box from Manuel Fernandez. Carrion finished top left and gave the home team the early lead.
The goal would hold up as the lone goal of the first half. In the first 45 minutes, Montevallo recorded four shots.
The Falcons would add six more shots in the second half, but would be unable to find the back of the net on any of them, and the defending conference tournament champions suffered a PBC road loss.
Jeffrey Hessenberger had three shots, including one on goal.
Yannic Horn had four saves in the match.
Montevallo (4-3-3, 1-2-2) is back home this Saturday, where they will take on Flagler.
The Falcons knocked the Saints out of the PBC Tournament in the semi-finals last season.
