FLORENCE, S.C. – University of Montevallo junior Katherine Goldsby scored a team-high 11 points in the Falcons' 79-47 loss on the road at Francis Marion University in their Peach Belt Conference opener Dec. 18.
Goldsby finished 4-of-5 from the floor and knocked down 3-of-7 attempts at the charity stripe while grabbing five rebounds for the Falcons, who fell to 1-7 overall and 0-1 in Peach Belt Conference play.
Senior Carrington Caise, along with freshmen Andrea Petrovic and D'Miyah Foster, contributed six points each. Caise dished out a team-high three assists.
Juniors Jasmine Thomas and Jasmine Newsome finished with five points each. Junior Katie Colson grabbed five boards.
Cy'Erra Mills led host Francis Marion (3-6 overall, 1-0 in Peach Belt Conference) with a game-high 20 points.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Dec. 20 with a Peach Belt Conference contest on the road at GRU Augusta in Augusta, Ga.
Tip-off at Christenberry Fieldhouse is set for 1:30 p.m. Eastern/12:30 p.m. Central.
