SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team saw a seven-match winning streak come to an end following a 3-0 loss on the road at nationally-ranked Armstrong State University in a Peach Belt Conference match Sept. 27.

The Falcons fell to the Pirates, who are ranked No. 22 nationally in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Divison II poll, in three sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.

Junior Sarah Guidry paced Montevallo (9-5 overall, 2-1 in Peach Belt Conference) with 11 kills while hitting .370 in the match.

Armstrong State began the second set with a 3-0 run. The Falcons came back with a 7-4 run of their own to tie the set at 7-7, fueled by three kills by Guidry. The Pirates took back momentum and led by double digits down the stretch on their way to a 25-15 win in the second set.
