HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons and the Nighthawks battled in the first half as the Montevallo defense harassed the Nighthawks.  The first goal of the game was scored in the 22nd minute to give the Nighthawks a 1-0 lead.

That goal was the only one scored in the first half as the Falcons entered the locker room trailing by one goal.

After the half the Falcons kept pressuring the Nighthawks on both sides of the ball.  Offensively the Falcons were able to create opportunities to score and found the back of the net in the 67nd minute.  Taylor Gonzalez had the ball deep in Nighthawk territory near the end line. Gonzales fed the ball into Simone Nelson who flicked it over to Garrison for the easy chip shot to tie the game at 1-1.

The Nighthawks responded quickly with another goal in the 68th minute when a save that deflected off of goalkeeper Katie Pearson was collected in front of the net and put in for the score.

The Nighthawks increased their lead with additional goals in the 82nd and 85th minute to put the game at 4-1.

STAT OF THE MATCH

Garrison recorded her first goal of the 2015 season which is also her first career goal as a Falcon after spending her freshman season as a redshirt.

Pearson spent the entire 90 minutes in the net tonight, the first time this season for the Falcons.  She also had five saves for the falcons in tonight's game.
