HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period featured four lead changes and was a back and forth affair with neither team able to gain ground and put distance between each other. By the time the first 10 minutes had been played the Falcons trailed the Jaguars 13-10.
A 10-2 run by the Jaguars in the second period gave Augusta a 10 point lead as they led the Falcons 25-15 at the 3:36 mark. The Falcons were able to cut the Jags lead to six before Augusta pushed it back to nine with a three point bucket. The Falcons cut the lead to eight as they entered the locker room trialing the Jaguars 30-22.
In the third period the Falcons struggled to score and the Jags took advantage. Going on a 10-2 run, Augusta was able to push the lead to 18 points (48-32) at the 3:30 mark, their largest of the game. The Falcons cut the Jags lead to 12 to end the period 52-40.
The Falcons started the fourth period with two quick buckets by Katija Tarailo and Morgan Smith to cut the Jags lead to single digits. The Falcons were able to cut the lead to six off a pair of Katherine Goldsby free throws. However, the comeback was short lived as the Jags quickly pushed the lead back to double digits and on to a 69-58 victory.
STAT OF THE GAME
Courtney McKenzie had her third double- double of the season. She scored 11 points for the Falcons and also grabbed 12 rebounds.
Katherine Goldsby led the team with 17 points and also recorded five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

The Falcons will take two weeks off for the holidays before returning on Jan. 2 to host Georgia Southwestern at 1:30pm.
