HOW IT HAPPENED

Georgia College handed Montevallo its second consecutive defeat on the road in Peach Belt Conference play with a 79-66 victory over the Falcons.

Georgia College raced out to a commanding 18-5 lead in the early stages of the first half following a layup by Terrell Harris with 14:02 remaining in the half. The Bobcats scored six second-chance points in the first five minutes of the contest after dominating on the boards early in the game.

Senior Terrell Lipkins drained his third 3-pointer in the first 10 minutes of the contest to help the Falcons trim the deficit to 23-13 with 10:30 remaining in the opening half. The Bobcats then went on a 7-0 run, capped with a 3-pointer by Ryan Blumenthal, to push their lead to 30-13 with 8:29 left in the first half.

Georgia College led by as many as 18 points in the opening half following a layup by Harris with 5:22 remaining in the half, which gave the Bobcats a 34-16 advantage.

A jumper by Lipkins trimmed the Bobcats' lead to 15 points late in the first half before Georgia College carried a 40-23 lead into the locker room at halftime when Harris knocked down a jumper in the final moments of the half.

Lipkins led all scorers in the game with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.

A layup by Isaac Thomas with 16:25 remaining in the game pushed the Bobcats' lead to 20 points for the first time in the contest, giving Georgia College a 46-26 lead. Thomas made another layup with 10:32 left in the game to give the Bobcats a 57-34 advantage, marking their largest lead in the contest.

Montevallo responded with a 13-3 run, capped with a 3-pointer by junior Logan Kelley, and managed to trim the Bobcats' lead to 60-47 with 5:57 remaining in the contest. Georgia College responded with a 8-2 run, capped with a layup by Harris with 4:32 left in the game, as the Bobcats pushed their lead to 68-49.

The Falcons made one last run in an attempt to trim the deficit to single digits, with a layup by sophomore Vaughn Autry cutting the Bobcats' lead to 70-58 with three minutes remaining in the game. Georgia College made 9-of-10 free throws in the final three minutes to hold off Montevallo down the stretch.

STAT OF THE GAME

Georgia College scored 28 points off of the Falcons' 16 turnovers in the game. Montevallo managed just seven points off the Bobcats' eight turnovers in the contest.

BEYOND THE NUMBERS

Junior Tyler Brough scored a career-high seven points after shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe.

Junior Logan Kelley tied his season high for 3-pointers made in a game as he finished 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.
