HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons overcame a 2-0 deficit in the final two minutes to force overtime before freshman Oliver Cylkowski netted the game-winner in double overtime to lift Montevallo to a 3-2 victory over Saint Leo.
  • Carlos Moncayo gave the Lions a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute on an unassisted goal.
  • Bafou Sanogo pushed the lead to 2-0 for Saint Leo after finishing a cross from teammate Brian Wercheck in the 57th minute.
  • Junior Kevin Francis, playing in just his third match of the season, scored the Falcons' first goal on a deflection in the 88th minute. Senior Steven Rocca was credited with an assist on the goal.
  • Rocca then tied the match at 2-2 with 11 seconds remaining in the match to send the game into overtime. The game-tying goal was assisted by junior Josh Keller.
  • Cylkowski finished off a through ball from freshman teammate Daniel Muyambi in the 107th minute to give the Falcons their fourth double-overtime victory this season.

STAT OF THE GAME

The Falcons finished with five shots in double overtime, compared to one shot by Saint Leo. The aggressive approach paid off with the game-winner by Cylkowski.

UP NEXT

The Falcons will travel to Dahlonega, Georgia to take on UNC Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference match on the University of North Georgia campus. The neutral-site match at the UNG Soccer Complex is set for 12 p.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Central.
