HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Falcons faced off with the Cougars for the second time this season in the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference tournament.  Montevallo made an appearance in the postseason for the first time since the 2013 season.

-The high-powered Cougar offense took advantage of a breakdown in the Falcon defense in the seventh minute as Nicole Corcione found the back of the net to give Columbus State a 1-0 lead.

-The Cougars scored two more goals in the first half to enter halftime with a 3-0 lead over the Falcons.

-Montevallo conceded two more goals in the second half, with both shots just beating the goalkeeper to give the Cougars the 5-0 victory.

STAT OF THE GAME

Montevallo was out shot 27-3 by the Cougars, but the Falcons defense only allowed 13 of those shots to reach the keeper.
