HOW IT HAPPENED
Flagler overcame a slow start in a 62-58 come-from-behind win over the Falcons in the final home contest of the season at Trustmark Arena.
Montevallo raced out to a 19-7 lead after the opening period following a layup by junior Morgan Smith with 10 seconds remaining in the period.
The Falcons extended their lead to 25-7 with a 6-0 run to start the second period following back-to-back 3-pointers by Smith and senior Jacquelyn Thompson early in the period.
Flagler chipped away at the deficit after closing the first half with a 18-6 run and trimmed the Falcons' lead to 31-25 heading into the locker room at halftime.
A 3-pointer by senior Jasmine Thomas to open the second half gave the Falcons a 34-25 advantage with 8:46 remaining in the third period. Montevallo managed to extend its lead to 45-33 with 3:18 left in the third period following a free throw by Thompson.
The Falcons carried a 47-38 lead into the fourth period before a 10-0 run to open the period by the Saints gave Flagler its first lead in the second half. Alex Alford made a pair of free throws with 2:24 remaining in the game to give the Saints a 52-51 lead.
Montevallo tied the game at 58-58 on a 3-pointer by Thompson with 28 seconds remaining in the game. After the Saints took a 60-58 lead in the final moments, a turnover by the Falcons kept Montevallo from getting off a game-tying shot.

Flagler forced 23 turnovers by the Falcons and registered 10 steals in the victory.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS
Junior Morgan Smith registered her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds against the Saints.
Senior Katherine Goldsby tied her career high with five assists against the Saints.
Senior Jerrisa Green tied her career high with four points in the game against Flagler.

Montevallo will close out the regular season with a trip to Young Harris, Georgia to take on Young Harris College in Peach Belt Conference play. The Falcons defeated the Mountain Lions 52-48 in overtime in the first meeting between the two teams this season. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m. Eastern/4:30 p.m. Central.
