HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Pirates started strong, but Montevallo came back into the set late in the opening frame. There were several ties down the stretch before the visitors took the first set 25-19.
• The second set was back and forth with Montevallo hanging around with Armstrong State. However, a late run allowed the Pirates to claim a 25-20 win in the set.
• The Falcons got off to a strong start early in the third set as juniors Kristy Bohan and Brie Blume got a couple of kills each. However, the Pirates evened it up and took a lead midway through the set. The late comeback by the Falcons was too little, too late as Armstrong State claimed the third set 25-21 and remained undefeated in conference play.

STAT OF THE GAME

Junior Kristy Bohan, the kills leader in the Peach Belt Conference, recorded a team-high 11 kills on the night.

The Falcons will take on Flagler College tomorrow afternoon in their annual Dig Lavender match. The Saints, who remain undefeated in conference play, are coming off of a five-set victory over Columbus State. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
