MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by West Alabama in conference play. The Falcons are now 5-3 on the season and 2-3 in the Gulf South Conference.
The Falcons were unable to overcome a pair of goals from the Tigers. The first goal was surrendered in the 43
rd minute off a penalty kick that was awarded to West Alabama.
Montevallo conceded the final goal of the game in the 76' to the Tigers who scored on a deflected header.

HOW IT HAPPENED
43' | Marie Dreezen scored the opening goal on a penalty kick to give West Alabama the 1-0 lead.
77' | Brianna Forrest gathered in a deflected header and found the back of the net to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
GAME NOTES
- West Alabama outshot the Falcons 19-12 in the game and placed 11 shots on goal compared to the Falcons six.
- Montevallo goalkeeper Sydney Young had nine saves on the night and added to her season total which now stands at 37 saves.
- Taylor Gonzales led the Falcons with three shots in today's game.
- Allye Darnell, Hannah Waki, and Tylor Ring had two shots each against the Tigers. Ring placed two shots on frame and Waki was responsible for one.
