CLINTON, Miss. – The University of Montevallo men's soccer team ended their first of two games this weekend with a 1-1 draw against GSC opponent Mississippi College.
The Choctaws scored the opening goal of the game in the final seconds of the opening half. In the 45' Wanner Paiz scored on a free kick to put Mississippi College on top 1-0 heading into halftime.
In the second half, the Falcons responded with a goal of their own to knot the game at 1-1. Cesare Marconi netted a ball off a free kick to draw the game even.
Mississippi College outshot the Falcons 28-12 in today's game but the Falcons' defense held strong and only conceded the one goal off a set piece.

GAME NOTES
· The Choctaws took twice as many shots as the Falcons but were only able to manage a single goal in today's contest. Montevallo placed six shots on goal in today's contest.
· Today's result marks the fourth time this season that Montevallo has tied with their opponent. Today's draw along with their draw in their last game against Lee is the first time this season that Montevallo has recorded back-to-back draws.
· Marconi scored his sixth goal of the season and now leads the Falcons in goals scored and points with 14 points this season.
