MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer team defeated Auburn-Montgomery in their final game of the regular season to finish with a winning record for the first time since the 2008 season.
The Falcons finish the 2017 season with a 9-6-2 overall record and a 6-6-2 record in conference play.
Montevallo scored the only goal of the game off the foot of
Allye Darnell. Darnell received a cross in the box from
Taylor Gonzales and placed her shot in behind the goalkeeper.
Darnell scored her sixth goal of the season and is the team leader in goals and points for the Falcons.

GAME NOTES
- Darnell's goal was her sixth of the year to make her the team leader in goals for the season. Darnell has also recorded two assists this season on her way to a team-high 14 points.
- Taylor Gonzales finished her senior season on a high note with an assist in tonight's game. Gonzales leads the team in assists with four and has also scored three times to accumulate 10 points on the year.
- In the evenly contested match, the Falcons were outshot 11-10 by the Warhawks. However, Montevallo placed more shots on goal with seven to end the game with a 70 percent shot on goal percentage.
- Sydney Young was only challenged twice in tonight's game and came away with a clean sheet after recording two saves.
