MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Five was the magic number for the University of Montevallo volleyball team on Senior Night, as the Falcons recognized five seniors and defeated the University of West Georgia 3-2 in five sets in their final match of the season Nov. 10 at Trustmark Arena.
Montevallo closed out the regular season 14-14 overall and 8-8 in Gulf South Conference play following the victory. Seniors

Montevallo got out to a great start behind six kills in the opening frame from senior
Kristy Bohan, who recorded her 1,500th career kill and finished her career fourth in the Falcons' record book for most kills in a career in Montevallo volleyball history. The Falcons claimed the first set before dropping the second set and third set to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
Montevallo found the groove in the fourth set and coasted to a 25-14 win in a must win period to force a fifth and decisive set. Montevallo and West Georgia traded points early on in the fifth set but the Falcons pulled away to close out the win.

GAME NOTES
- Senior Kristy Bohan recroded 11 kills in her final match as a Falcon. The Huntsville native finished her career with 1,510 kills, which ranks fourth all-time in Montevallo volleyball history.
- Junior Brie Blume led the Falcons with 14 kills to go along with 11 digs and three service aces as she posted her sixth double-double of the season.
- Freshman Amanda Nugent, junior Brioni Dixon and freshman Evelina Teran all finished with double digit kills, with 13, 12 and 10, respectively.
- Sophomore Michaela Henderson recorded a match-high 21 digs during the five-set match. Montevallo also saw double digit digs from Blume, as well as freshman Liz Tisch and senior Grace Harris.
- The Falcons hit an incredible .394 in the fourth set, and hit .208 on the game compared to the Wolves' .127 average.
- Liz Tisch finished one assist shy of tying her career high with a match-high 50 assists to go along with three service aces.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo raced out to a 24-10 lead behind the six kills of senior Kristy Bohan. West Georgia scored 10 straight points, before the Falcons ended the set with a kill by senior Jamesia Edmond.
- West Georgia took the momentum they gained from the first set run to the second and third sets. The Wolves outlasted the Falcons 25-22 and 25-23, hitting .235 in the second to put the Falcons on the ropes.
- Needing a fourth set victory, Montevallo hit .394 and found kills from freshmen Amanda Nugent and Evelina Teran to complemement kills from junior Brie Blume and Bohan as the Falcons started clicking as a team.
- After a back and forth start to the fifth set, Montevallo dominated after the change in sides and finished off the match with a pair of kills from junior Brioni Dixon.
