CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team put up a resilient fight in its final road match in Gulf South Conference play before falling on the road at Lee University 3-2 in a hard-fought five-set match Nov. 4.

Junior Brie Blume registered the fifth double-double of her collegiate career with a team-high 12 kills to go along with 14 digs in the match for the Falcons, who fell to 13-14 overall and 7-8 in Gulf South Conference play.

Freshman Liz Tisch recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 digs and 14 assists in the match against the Flames, who improved to 18-8 overall and 9-5 in conference play.

Sophomore Harley Masoner contributed the second double-double of her collegiate career with a team-high 24 assists to go along with 15 digs.

Senior Kristy Bohan and junior Brioni Dixon added 11 kills each for the Falcons.

Freshman Amanda Nugent led the Falcons with 20 digs as she reached double figures in digs for the 12th consecutive match, while sophomore Michaela Henderson added 17 digs.

The Falcons will return home Friday, Nov. 10 to host the University of West Georgia on Senior Day. First serve is set for 6 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lee broke open a tight first set and erased the Falcons' 11-10 lead with a 6-1 run midway through the frame, which helped the Flames secure a 25-16 win in the frame.
• Montevallo went on a 4-0 run midway through the second set to build momentum down the stretch as the Falcons got an important kill from junior Brioni Dixon in a late 4-1 run to end the frame with a 25-22 victory.
• The Flames bounced back with a 25-19 win in the third set to reclaim a 2-1 lead in the match after outscoring the Falcons 9-5 down the stretch.
• The Falcons responded with a 25-23 win in the fourth set to tie the match at 2-2 after ending the frame with a 6-4 run.
• Montevallo jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fifth and final set following early kills by junior Brie Blume and freshman Evelina Teran, but the Flames responded with a 15-8 run to close out the match with a 15-13 win in the frame.
