HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons got on the board first with a goal from Jami Hudak in the second minute of play. Janey Johnson recorded an assist on the opening goal by Hudak.
The Hawks reeled off 10 straight goals before the Falcons found goal again to make it a 10-1 game.Â
The 17-minute scoring drought was brought to an end when Georgi Griffin set up Alyssa Kaminski for Montevallo's second goal of the game with 11:12 left to play in the opening half.
Shorter closed out the half with a three-goal run to take a 13-2 lead into halftime.
The Falcons outscored the Hawks in the second half 8-5, but it was not enough to overcome the 11 goal deficit from the first half as Shorter came away with the 18-10 victory.
Jami Hudak scored five goals in the second half for the Falcons. Kaminski and Lauren Duckworth also scored for the Falcons in the second half.
STAT OF THE GAME
Hudak led the Falcons with six goals in her first game this season and matched her career high in goals scored.
