HOW IT HAPPENED

After starting the game with two scoreless frames, the Falcons got on the board with a pair of runs in the third inning.  Ryan Brooks was brought home on a Collin Dupree triple to score the game's first run.  Dupree was plated on the next at-bat by Chad Wagner to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.

Montevallo scored two more runs in the fourth inning off the bat of Sebastian Samuels who homered to straightaway centerfield as the Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

McKendree came back in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 4-4.

In the sixth inning, the Bearcats plated three runs to take a 7-4 lead over the Falcons.

The Bearcats scored two more in the seventh inning to make it a 9-4 ballgame.

The Falcons got a run back in the eighth inning to make it 9-5 but the Bearcats answered in the top of the ninth with four runs to make it 13-5 heading into the Falcons' final at-bats.

Montevallo scored on a sacrifice fly to centerfield to make the score 13-6 but couldn't get any more runs across as the Bearcats held on for the victory.

Samuels went 2-of-4 from the plate and also drove in a pair of runs in today's outing.
