In the third period, the Falcons continued to struggle on the offensive end of the floor.  Montevallo only managed to score nine points and was outscored in the period 17-9.  The Lakers took a six-point lead into the final period, 41-35

Both teams fought till the final buzzer as the Falcons tried to make up ground on the Lakers.  In the period the lead was never greater than eight points for Clayton State.  The Falcons were able to pull to within four of the Lakers, but every time they did, Clayton State had an answer.
