HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons rolled past the Flames in their second GSC meeting this season as Montevallo cruised to an easy 14-3 victory.
The Falcons and the Flames traded goals early in the first half of play with both teams scoring a goal in the opening three minutes. Jessica Culver scored the Falcons' opening goal off an assist from Janey Johnson.
Montevallo broke the 1-1 tie in the fifth minute of play on an unassisted goal from Alyssa Kaminski.
The Falcons had a five-goal run to take a 6-1 lead over the Flames that spanned 19 minutes. Jami Hudak recorded a hat trick during that run by scoring three straight goals. Culver scored her second goal of the game, while Meghan Shea also found the net.
With 5:03 left to play in the first half, the Flames scored their second goal and capped the scoring for the half. The Falcons took a 7-2 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Montevallo opened the second half with a six-goal run to take a commanding 13-2 lead.Â
After a Flames goal made it 13-3, the Falcons' Hudak scored the game's final goal with 5:53 left to play in the game.
