HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons recorded their eighth win of the season with a 17-11 victory on the road against the Stormy Petrels.
Montevallo started off the game with a five-goal run to take an early 5-0 lead. Five different players scored for the Falcons during the run that was started by Georgi Griffin who scored the game's opening goal.
In the first half, Montevallo had eight different players find the back of the net. Lauren Duckworth and Jessica Culver each had two goals in the opening half. The Falcons outscored the Stormy Petrels 9-5 in the first half and took that lead into the locker room at the break.
To open the second half, Jami Hudak and Lara Schuetz each netted a goal in the first three minutes of the period.Â
Oglethorpe tried to make a rally in the second half by going on a four-goal run. The Stormy Petrels run was cut short by the Falcons who quickly netted a pair of goals to maintain a 13-9 lead midway through the second half.
Montevallo closed out the game with a four-goal run to seal the 17-11 victory over Oglethorpe.
