After four one-possession games in the past five that went in favor of the opponent, the Falcons finally came out on the winning end and clinched a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament in the process following a game-winning layup by junior

Shorter responded with a 18-5 run of its own and took a 49-45 lead on a 3-pointer by Josh Burnett with 6:20 left in the contest.
Montevallo outscored the Hawks 10-4 down the stretch and retook the lead for the final time on Williams' layup, assisted by Jackson, at the buzzer.
