MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo men's basketball team held off a late charge by visiting Mississippi College to remain in fifth place in Gulf South Conference standings following a 80-69 win Feb. 8 over the Choctaws at Trustmark Arena.

Montevallo (14-11 overall, 9-7 in Gulf South Conference) shot 48 percent from the floor and 82.8 percent from the charity stripe while outrebounding Mississippi College 38-29 in the victory.
