- Eight of the nine starters recorded a hit in tonight's game and four of them registered multiple hits in the game.
- Caleb Ledbetter went 2-of-4 from the plate and drove in three runs for the Falcons.
- Mark Castellucci also had a three-RBI game on a bases-clearing double in the first inning. Castellucci went 1-of-4 from the dish and also scored once in the first frame.
- Jason Cryar went 3-of-4 from the plate and scored twice in the victory.
- Chad Wagner was 3-of-5 with two RBI in the game and also crossed the plate twice for the Falcons.Â
- Alex Pondick (8-1) threw his fifth complete game shutout of the season, a new Montevallo record. Pondick allowed seven hits and also fanned seven batters in his outing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo started off the game hot and plated 12 runs in the opening frame to jump out to a huge 12-0 lead over the Wolves. Montevallo had five extra-base hits in the inning including a bases-clearing double by Mark Castellucci to score three of the Falcons' runs.
- The rest of the game was a pitching duel as West Georgia and Montevallo both shut down the opposing offenses. Montevallo enforced the run rule in the seventh inning to claim the 12-0 victory.
