GAME NOTES

•  Amanda Nugent led the Falcons with 16 kills in the match.  Brioni Dixon also registered double-digit kills with 12 in the match. 
• Dixon dominated at the net and denied the Warhawks six times.  Hanna Fernandez also registered four blocks on the night.
• Harley Masoner and Savannah Roys split time at setter with Masoner recording 25 assists and Roys registering 24 assists.
• Michaela Henderson had a team-high 23 digs from her defensive position.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1

• Montevallo cruised in the opening set of play after trading points to open up the set.
• Trialing the Warhawks 2-1, Montevallo went on a 5-0 run to take a 6-2 lead.
• AUM was able to pull the game to an 8-5 advantage for the Falcons.  Montevallo scored nine unanswered points to take a commanding 17-5 lead.
• AUM tried to claw their way back in the set but the Falcons continued to apply the pressure and claimed the set 25-10.

 Set 2

• In the second set, the Falcons and the Warhawks played it close as neither team gained an advantage over the other until midway through the set.
• Leading 15-10 midway through the set, Montevallo outscored the Warhawks 10-5 to claim the set 25-15.

Set 3

• Both teams exchanged points early on in the set until Montevallo broke up a 9-9 tie with a five-point run to lead 14-9.
• AUM responded with a five-point run of their own to tie the game at 14-14.
• Later in the set, AUM used a four-point lead to take a 21-19 advantage over the Falcons.
• Montevallo and AUM kept it to a one-point game throughout the remainder of the match and the Warhawks came away with the 30-28 victory.

Set 4

• Montevallo made quick work of the Warhawks in the final set of the match.
• Using an 8-0 run early in the set gave Montevallo a 13-7 advantage.
• Montevallo used a 5-0 late in the set to take a 20-10 lead.
• Montevallo closed out the set to claim the 25-15 victory.
