HOW IT HAPPENED
 
13' | Sophomore Kira Bochard gave the Falcons an early 1-0 lead with her high kick as she planted a shot into the upper right corner of the net directly off a corner kick from junior Madison Madewell.

29' | The Blazers tied the match at 1-1 when Ashley Lewis scored off a direct attempt at the net on a free kick from just outside the box.

31' | Valdosta State benefitted from the strongest gust of wind during the game when a corner kick by Carley Montgomery curved its way into the back corner of the net, without another touch, just beyond the outstretched arms of Montevallo goalkeeper Judith Perez-Bayon to give the Blazers a 2-1 lead.


GAME NOTES

  • The Blazers improved to 3-0 all time in the series history of the two programs with the win in Gulf South Conference play.
  • The Falcons finished with a commanding 21-7 advantage in shots attempted in the contest, including a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.
  • Montevallo also held a 10-3 advantage in corner kick attempts in the match.
  • The foul count was even between the Falcons and the Blazers with both teams finishing with eight in the match.
  • Sophomore Kira Bochard registered her second goal of the season and has contributed a goal in two of the past three matches for the Falcons.
