Montevallo is 6-2-1 all-time against the Warhawks

Last Meeting: The Falcons and Tigers last met on Oct., 14th, 2018 in Montevallo, Alabama. Montevallo knocked off the Warhawks 3-1.
 
Streaks: The Falcons are currently on a two game win streak against AUM. Montevallo beat AUM 1-0 on the road in 2017 before winning at home last season.
 
Series Notes: AUM has only beaten the Falcons twice all-time. Both wins came back-to-back for the Warhawks in 2003 and 2010 both as 1-0 double-overtime wins.

NEWS AND NOTES
  • Montevallo enters its seventh conference game of the season on the road against AUM, 6-2-3 overall on the season and 4-1-1 in GSC play, following a 3-0 win at home over UAH.
  • AUM enters the match 1-9 on the season and 1-5 in GSC play, following a 2-1 win loss to West Alabama.
  • The Falcons are 3-1-0 on the road this season, only falling to West Florida. AUM is 0-5 at home. The Warhawks' lone win on the season came on the road 3-0 over Spring Hill.
  • Montevallo enters the contest tied for second overall in the GSC standing with West Alabama. The Falcons four GSC wins and one tie give them 13 total points in conference play, just five behind Mississippi College who sits at the top of the conference with 18 points.
  • Montevallo is off to its best start in program history since 1998, eleven games in the season at 6-2-3. The Falcons are ranked No. 9 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division II South Region Poll.

TEAM LEADERS

MONTEVALLO
  • Annie Mason leads the Falcons defensively this season with 42 saves and only five goals allowed. Mason ranks second the GSC in goals against average (.517) and leads in save percentage (.894) and in shut outs (3). Mason has twice been named the GSC Defender of the Week this season.
  • The Falcons offensive attack is led by Romee Contreras who has scored five goals this season. Allye Darnell,  Kaeri Ward  and Samara Lino have each scored two goals this season, and a group of seven players have all scored one goal each this season. Senior Tylor Ring, juniors Kira Bochard and Kristen Chance, and sophomores, Medhali Hernandez, Espy Sanchez, and Melanie Stevens, and freshman Tori Ochoa have all found the back-of-the-net once this season.
  • Sophomore Romee Contreras also leads the Falcons in assists this season with three.
  • Contreras also leads the Falcons in shots-on-goal with 14 so far. Sophomore Medhali Hernandez has put up a team-leading 41 shots so far this season.
  • Melanie Stevens, along with juniors Hannah Waki and Christiane Malone make up a back line that has played over 2,900 minutes this season. Waki leads the Falcons with 1029 minutes so far. The Falcons defense has allowed just eight goals to NCAA Division II opponents this season.

  • AUM is led by Ruby Mendez who has scored seven goals this season for the Warhawks.
  • Chole Kistler leads the Warhawks in goal this season with 47 saves in seven games played.
