Last Meeting: Romee Contreras scored her collegiate goal to give Montevallo a 1-0 lead  in the second minute of play in September 2018 to help Montevallo to 2-0 win at Shorter. Tylor Ring added an insurance goal in the 78th minute.
 
Streaks: The Falcons have won three in a row in the GSC and are now 4-0-1 in their last five games. 
 
Series Notes: UM has not allowed a goal by Shorter in their only two meetings in NCAA Division II. Montevallo won 2-0 last year and posted a 1-0 victory at home in 2017. 

NEWS AND NOTES
  • A win moves Montevallo one win shy of clinching its bid for the GSC Tournament. without help from others. The Falcons are currently third in the standings, a half game behind the University of West Alabama.
  • After an 0-9 start to the season, Shorter is 2-0-1 in the last two weeks with wins over Spring Hill College and Union University. The Hawks tied AUM, 1-1, on Oct. 25.
  • The Falcons are 3-1-2 at home this season, only falling to DI program Louisiana Tech in week one of the season. Shorter is 1-5-1 on the road, including a 1-0 win at Union University last Sunday.
  • Montevallo is off to its best start in program history since 1998, eleven games in the season at 8-2-3. The Falcons are ranked No. 8 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division II South Region Poll. 

TEAM LEADERS

MONTEVALLO
  • Annie Mason leads the Falcons defensively this season with 42 saves and only five goals allowed. Mason ranks second the GSC in goals against average (.517) and leads in save percentage (.894) and in shut outs (3). Mason has twice been named the GSC Defender of the Week this season.
  • The Falcons offensive attack is led by Romee Contreras and Samara Lino, who each have five goals scored. Allye Darnell, Tori Ochoa,  Espy Sanchez, Melanie Stevens and Kaeri Ward have each scored two goals this season, and a group of seven players have all scored one goal each this season. Senior Tylor Ring, juniors Kira Bochard and Kristen Chance, and sophomore Medhali Hernandez have all found the back-of-the-net once this season.
  • Sophomore Romee Contreras also leads the Falcons in assists this season with five.
  • Contreras also leads the Falcons in shots-on-goal with 16 so far. Sophomore Medhali Hernandez has put up a team-leading 41 shots so far this season.
  • Melanie Stevens, along with juniors Hannah Waki and Christiane Malone make up a back line that has played more than 3,000 minutes this season. Waki leads the Falcons with nearly 1,200 minutes so far. The Falcons defense has allowed just 10 goals to NCAA Division II opponents this season.
SHORTER
  • Izabel Salgado scored her first goal of the season Friday to tie AUM, 1-1. Erin Carter netted her first goal of the year on Oct. 20 to lift the Falcons to a 1-0 win at Union. 
  • Carter and Bianca Martins Da Silva both lead Shorter with two goals apiece.
  • Four different goalkeepers have started for Shorter this season, led by Sydney Durham 's 54 saves in 730 minutes. She's allowed 19  goals.
