Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo men's soccer rallied from a 3-0 hole, but was unable to complete its Senior Day comeback, falling 3-2 to Shorter University on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Montevallo trailed 3-0 in the first 30 minutes, but
Vladik Margolin scored a PK in the 41st minute to cut it to 3-1 at the half. The second half was a gridlock, until
Nemanja Acimovic placed a shot in the top center of the goal in the 86th minute to make it a one-goal game. UM was unable to score the equalizer on three shots in the final minutes, two were saved.

HOW IT HAPPENED
16' | Val Evans took an assist from Hernan Saldana and Jan Gruhn to give Shorter a 1-0 lead with a goal in the lower left corner.
20' | Jackson Wheatley extended Shorter's lead, 2-0, off an assist by Thallison Alex.

41' | Vladik Margolin converted a penalty kick to put Montevallo on the board, 3-1, following a foul and yellow card by Shorter goalkeeper Mathew Shorrocks.

GAME NOTES
- Montevallo has now lost three straight games, all in Gulf South Conference action, to fall to 3-4 in the GSC. UM is in ninth place in the GSC, one spot shy of making the GSC Tournament, with four games to go.
- Shots were fairly even in the game, as Shorter had 16 to Montevallo's 14 and one more shot on goal, 5 to 4.
- The Falcons had six corner kicks to Shorter's one.
- Ruben Carvalho led UM with four shots. Antoni Matabosch and Nemanja Acimovic each had three shots.
- Robert Kuta played the full 90 minutes in goal, collecting two saves.
- Shorter's Mathew Shorrocks collected the win in goal with two saves.
