Last Meeting: The Falcons and Argos last met on September 30th, at Georgine Lemak Soccer Field. West Florida topped the Falcons 5-2 in Montevallo, Alabama.
 
Streaks: The longest winning streak in the series comes from West Florida when they won eight in a row from 2001 to 2006. However, since then both teams have alternated two game winning streaks.
 
Series Notes: West Florida holds a big advantage when hosting the Falcons. Although the Falcons have come away with two draws against the Argos in Pensacola, they have only won two games on the road, since the first matchup between the two teams in 1995.

NEWS AND NOTES
  • Montevallo men's soccer will take the field to face the West Florida Argonauts in a non-conference road contest.
  • The Falcons are coming off a 3-2 win over North Georgia at home last weekend. The Falcons have fallen the in their last two road matches to Saint Leo 3-1 and Francis Marion 2-0.
  • Montevallo is 3-3-1 on the season, following the North Georgia win. Montevallo enters the Gulf South Conference matchup 1-0 on the season after a dominating 4-0 over Christian Brothers. This will be the first GSC road contest of the season for the Falcons.
  • West Florida enters the matchup undefeated 6-0 on the season with a 2-0 mark in GSC play.

MONTEVALLO
  • Senior Robert Kuta has recorded 27 saves so far this season and has only allowed eight goals.
  • Offensively, the Falcons are led by junior Nemanja Acimovic and freshman Fausto Castillo. Acimovic, the Belgrade, Serbia native was named the GSC player of the week after his hat-trick performance against Christian Brothers. Castillo, the Guatemala City, Guatemala native, was named the GSC Freshman of the week following his game-winning goal against Clayton State. Castillo added his second goal of the season in the win over North Georgia. Senior Vladik Margolin has contributed two goals for the Falcons this season, both coming from penalty kicks.

  • For West Florida, Sean Hoffstatter has scored four goals on the season to lead the Argonauts.
  • In goal, Jihad Gomes has made 14 saves and only allowed three goals.
