MONTEVALLO
  • The Falcons have won their three games this season despite struggling from behind the 3-point line. MontevalloĀ has made only 10-of-63 attempts from deep.
  • What Montevallo has lacked shooting from deep, they have made up for on the defensive end of the floor. The Falcons have held their three opponents so far to just 31.5% shooting from the field, and only 22.2% from long distance. The Falcons are also forcing better than five more turnovers per game than they are committing, and they are turning those turnovers into nearly 19 points per game.
  • Shyan Flack and Kiya Sain have each notched a double-double in the early portion of the season, with Flack averaging 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while Sain adds 14.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
TUSKEGEE
  • The Golden Tigers played two games in the GSC/SIAC Challenge at Montevallo's Trustmark Arena on the season's opening weekend, And while they lost them both, the games played out very differently. The Golden Tigers Three players scored in double-figures and India Blakley had a double-double against Auburn University-Montgomery, but slow first and fourth quarters proved to be the undoing of the Golden Tigers.
  • In their game against Montevallo, Tuskegee shot only 18.8 percent in the second half (6-32) after the halftime. as the Falcons took full advantage of second chances when Tuskegee allowed the Falcons 20 second chance points.
  • The Golden Tigers returned home on Tuesday to take on a third GSC team, and they blitzed the Hawks of Shorter University 68-28. Genesis Adams had a double-double against the Hawks with 11 points and 10 rebounds, both team highs.
