- Overall, the Falcons have won the eight matchups with Shorter after dropping the first ever game by only a single point.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Â
MONTEVALLO
- With Montevallo's 81-78 win at West Georgia earlier in the week, Falcon head coach Danny Young earned his 400th career win. In 19 years as a head coach, Young is 400-178, including a 346-171 mark in 17 seasons at the helm of the UM men's basketball program.
- Cedric Jackson, against UWG earlier this week, matched his career high with 23 points scored on 10-of-14 shooting, including two 3-pointers and one free throw. Earlier this season against Clark Atlanta, Jackson scored 23 points, too, on 8-of-10 shooting with seven baskets coming from behind the 3-point arc.
- Last time out against the Wolves, Montevallo had five players finish in double figures. After Jackson's 23 points, Wade Lowman added 16, while Jonas Parker added 15. Xavier Malcom (13) and Jack Youmans (10) rounded out the quintet of Falcons.

SHORTER
- In its two Gulf South Conference games this season, Lee upended Shorter, 83-66, before the Hawks fell to West Alabama, 90-65, on Dec. 16.
- Shorter has a trio of players who average double-digit points with Bryan Polanco leading the way with 15.6 points per game. Ja'Cori Wilson averages 13.3 points, while Jay Shropshire adds 12.2 points a contest.
- Over the last month, Shorter has dropped five of its six games, including both GSC games. The Hawks lost to Fort Valley State (73-87) before avenging that defeat (73-54) weeks later. Young Harris College (71-89), Lee (66-83), Troy (53-104) and West Alabama (65-90) all got the best of Shorter over recent weeks.
