  • Junior Holly LaForce finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple while driving in four runs and scoring one run.
  • Sophomore Brooke Ingram went 2-for-3 at the plate while driving in one run and scoring one run.
  • Junior Haley Barnette finished 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs.
  • Senior Marisa Sosa went 1-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Columbus State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a solo homer by Kirstin Reynolds.
  • The Cougars plated two more runs in the top of the fourth inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by Madeline Parker and a RBI double by Paris Poston.
  • Montevallo scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, highlighted by a three-run triple by junior Holly LaForce and a pair of RBI singles by sophomore Brooke Ingram and senior Marisa Sosa.
  • Columbus State answered with six runs in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by a grand slam by Hannah Rose Corbin and another solo shot by Reynolds.
  • The Falcons plated two runs in the bottom of sixth inning on a RBI double by sophomore Carlee Mullinax and a RBI single by LaForce.
  • The Cougars plated their final run on a RBI groundout by Morgan Elston in the top of the seventh inning.
UP NEXT

The Falcons will travel to Montgomery, Alabama to face Auburn-Montgomery in a three-game Gulf South Conference series this weekend starting Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m.
