HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when senior Jason Cryar reached on an infield single and scored on a RBI double to left-center field by senior Tyler Krabbe.
- West Alabama tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by Taylor Clemmons.
- The Falcons plated three runs in the bottom of the third inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by senior Jason Cryar, a RBI single by junior Sebastian Samuels and a RBI single by senior Ryan Brooks to take a 4-1 lead.
- Jake Hartman blasted a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to trim the Falcons' lead to 4-2.
- The Tigers scored another run in the top of the fifth inning on a RBI fielder's choice by Trevor Smeeton to trim the Falcons' lead to 4-3.
- Montevallo broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Krabbe, RBI singles by juniors Sam Stewart and Jake Morris, Â a RBI sacrifice fly by freshman Ty Wooton and a bases-loaded walk issued to freshman Max Garvey.
- The Tigers scored a run in the top of the sixth inning when J.D. Roberts reached on a triple and scored on a RBI sacrifice fly by Jaylon Keys.
- Montevallo pushed its lead to 13-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Morris scored on a balk before Krabbe drove in a run with a RBI sacrifice fly and senior Khari Anderson scored on an error by the Tigers.
- Hartman sent another solo shot over the wall in right-center field to trim the Falcons' lead to 13-5 in the top of the eighth inning.
- Montevallo scored its final run on a RBI sacrifice fly by Wooton in the bottom of the eighth inning.
