MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's lacrosse team fell to visiting University of Charleston 9-7 in a Gulf South Conference contest March 12.
Junior Sydny Dudley and senior Jami Hudak scored two goals each for the Falcons.
Freshmen Lovisa Stadelmann and Anja Kuys, along with sophomore Caleigh Spoon each added one goal.
Junior Janey Johnson recorded a team-high three assists, while Dudley and Kuys each added one.
Senior Irfana Ahmed registered 14 saves in the contest, with her 14th save giving her 500 for her collegiate career.
Sophomore Elizabeth Tyler totaled four ground balls while Kuys totaled five draw controls.

1st (24:53) | Aryanna Jones gave Charleston a 2-0 lead, scoring unassisted.
1st (17:03) | Senior Jami Hudak scored the first goal for the Falcons to trim the Golden Eagles' lead 2-1 on an assist by junior Janey Johnson.
1st (13:26) | Hudak netted her second goal of the match trimming the deficit to 3-2, scoring unassisted.
1st (4:21) | Sophomore Caleigh Spoon scored the third goal of the game for Montevallo, to trail 4-3, after an assist from junior Sydny Dudley.
2nd (28:48) | Montevallo scored the first goal of the second half when Dudley found the back of the net on an assist by freshman Anja Kuys to trail 5-4.
2nd (20:18) | The Falcons scored back-to-back goals to tie the game 6-6 when freshman Lovisa Stadelmann scored on an assist from Johnson.
2nd (1:33) | After three straight goals from the Golden Eagles, Kuys scored the seventh and final goal of the game for the Falcons on a free-position shot.
GAME NOTES
- The Golden Eagles outshot the Falcons 32-21 in the contest.
- Montevallo finished with 24 turnovers compared to 21 turnovers by Charleston.
- Charleston totaled 34 ground balls while the Falcons totaled just 14.
- Charleston successfully cleared 16-of-25 attempts, while the Falcons finished 14-of-22 in clear attempts.
- Montevallo finished with a 11-7 advantage in draws controlled.
