Falcons fall to Young Harris on the road 24-4 in GSC contest

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women's lacrosse team fell to Young Harris College 24-4 in a Gulf South Conference contest. 
Senior Jami Hudak led the Falcons in scoring with two goals in the game. 
Junior Sydny Dudley and sophomore Natalie Dicken each scored one goal for the Falcons. 
Junior Janey Johnson and freshman Lovisa Stadelmann led the falcons in assists with one each.
Freshman Anja Kuys and Senior Georgi Griffin each recorded three draws controlled.
Senior Irfana Ahmed registered a 12 saves in the contest. 

KEY GOALS
1st (11:55) | After eight straight goals by Young Harris, junior Sydny Dudley scored the first goal of the game for the Falcons off an assist from freshman Lovisa Stadelmann to trail 8-1.
1st (03:09) | Senior Jami Hudak found the back of the net off an assist from junior Janey Johnson to trail Young Harris 10-2.
2nd (28:33) | Freshman Natalie Dicken scored unassisted to open the second half as Young Harris led 12-3.
2nd (26:45) | Hudak netted her second goal of the game to trim the deficit to 12-4.
 
GAME NOTES
  • The Mountain Lions outshot the Falcons 48-13 in the contest.
  • Montevallo finished with 29 turnovers compared to 21 turnovers by Young Harris. 
  • Young Harris totaled 25 ground balls while the Falcons totaled 18.
  • Young Harris successfully cleared 19-of-23 attempts, while the Falcons finished 12-of-26 in clear attempts.
  • Young Harris finished with a 19-10 advantage in draws controlled.
  • The Mountain Lions totaled nine free-position shots compared to just one by the Falcons.
  • The Falcons totaled 14 saves while Young Harris totaled 7.
