Set 1

  • Ohio Dominican responded with three straight points, taking the lead 4-2.
  • Montevallo tied the game 4-4 following a kill from Brioni Dixon. The Falcons took the lead 5-4 following another attack error by the Panthers.
  • After trading small scoring bunches with the Panthers, Montevallo, down 15-13, scored eight straight points to take a 21-15 lead over Ohio Domincian. Evelina Teran and Dixon each chipped in two kills during the run.
  • The Panthers responded with a five point run, shrinking the Falcons lead to 21-20.
  • A service error by the Panthers resulted in a Montevallo victory, 25-22 in the first set.
Set 2
  • Montevallo opened up the second set, behind 3-0 quickly to the Panthers.

  • Ohio Dominican again controlled the set early, going up 2-0.
  • After falling behind 6-3, the Falcons were able to work their way back, taking the lead 16-11, following a service ace from Desiree Rodriguez.
  • Ohio Dominican came within one point of the Falcons down the stretch. Montevallo led 21-22 before closing the set 25-21, following a three point run, capped by a kill from Fernandez.
The Falcons topped Ohio Dominican 3-0.
