  • Montevallo will open up Gulf South Conference play against Christian Brothers this afternoon.
  • Montevallo is 0-1-1 on the season following a 0-0 tie to Florida Southern College on Friday and a 1-0 loss to No. 9 Palm Beach Atlantic.
  • Christian Brothers enters the match 1-2 on the season after defeating Lindenwood University 2-1 and dropping matches against Maryville University 1-2, and Bethel University 1-3.
  • Montevallo was led by a strong back-line through the first two games of the season. The Falcons' defense will miss freshman Mario Gratzl in the GSC opener after he received two yellow cards in the loss to Palm Beach Atlantic.
 TEAM LEADERS
  • Senior Robert Kuta has recorded eight saves so far this season and has only allowed one goal.
  • Along with Kuta, redshirt Junior Rob McNeal leads the Falcons' backline after being named the GSC Player of the Week on Tuesday.
  • The Falcons have posted seven shots on goal as a team this season, three of which have come from the foot of junior Nemanja Acimovic. The transfer from Ohio valley has also added seven total shots.
  • For Christain Brothers, Ivan Segui leads the Bucs with three goals on the season.
  • Victor Hoestbo leads the way for CBU defensively, having totaled nine saves this season.
