 HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- The Falcons traded points with the Bison in the opening stages of the first set. A kill from Hannah Fernandez gave the Falcons a 15-10 advantage.
- Harding responded with a six point run to reclaim the lead 16-15. Desiree Rodriguez tied the game up at 16 with her first kill of the set.
- A kill from Evelina Teran and a service ace from Rodriguez put the Falcons up 18-16. The Bison answered with a five point run, taking the lead 21-18.
- The Falcons were unable to catch the Bison the rest of the way in the first set, falling 25-20.
Set 2
- Harding struck first in set number two and controlled the opening stages of the set, leading the Falcons 10-5 early on.
- Midway through the match Harding led 20-15. Montevallo responded with four straight points, capped by a Rodriguez kill, to get within one point of the Bison 20-19.
- Montevallo failed to catch Harding down the stretch in set two, falling 25-21.

SET 3
- The Falcons found themselves down 10-6 to begin the third set, following a kill from Harding's Logan Smith.
- Montevallo took the lead 11-10 following a four point run, capped by a service ace from Teran.
- After taking the lead, Montevallo traded pairs of points with Harding before the Bison jumped out to a 22-18 lead late in set three.
- Montevallo mounted a comeback in the third set, scoring seven straight points down-the-stretch to top the Bison 25-22 and force a fourth set.
SET 4
- The Falcons jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the beginning of the fourth set, following a pair of kills from Danielle Lee and Hannah Fernandez, as well as a pair of errors by the Bison.
- Montevallo conceded the first point of the set on a service error but responded with three straight points, capped by Lee's third kill of the set to lead 10-1.
- The Bison cut in to Montevallo's lead midway through the set following four straight points. However, Harding still trailed the Falcons 18-13.
- Rodriguez put the game away with a kill to win the set 25-17, forcing a tie-breaking fifth set
SET 5
- Harding controlled the fifth set early, racing out to a 4-1 lead over the Falcons.
- Montevallo tied the Bison 7-7 following a service error by Harding's Emily Smith. Brioni Dixon then gave Montevallo the lead 8-7.
- After trading points, Harding began to pull away down the stretch, leading 13-10.
- A kill by Teran cut the deficit to 12-14. The Falcons stayed alive, 13-14, following a attacking error by Emily Smith.
- Harding took the fifth set 15-13 following a kill by Ally Stoner that grazed the fingertips of Fernandez before sliding out of bounds.
The Falcons comeback came up just short, dropping the first match of the season 3-2 against Harding.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- The Falcons jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the first set following a kill from Brioni Dixon.
- Trevecca Nazarene began closing down the Falcons lead getting within one point 12-13 before the Falcons scored three straight points to lead 16-12 following a service ace from Desiree Rodriguez.
- Montevallo led 24-16 after a kill from Savannah Roys gave the set-point to the Falcons.
- The Trojans rattled off six straight points to get within three of the Falcons lead before Hannah Fernandez's kill put the game away 25-22 for the Falcons.
Set 2
- The Falcons were off to quick start again in set two, leading 6-2 following a kill from Hannah Fernandez.
- Trevecca closed in on the Falcons lead, tying the set up at 11 following an attacking error by the Falcons.
- Trevecca controlled the set until Desiree Rodriguez's killed tied the game back up at 20.
- Down the stretch of the second set, Trevecca outscored the Falcons 4-1 to win the set 25-21
SET 3
- Trevecca Nazarene controlled the third set from the beginning and led 18-13 midway through.
- Montevallo responded with a three point run to cut the deficit to 18-16 following an attacking error by Ellie Buffler of Trevecca.
- Trevecca led 24-21 in the later stages of the third set, two errors by the Torjans gave Montevallo life towards the end but it wasn't enough Montevallo fell 25-23.
SET 4
- The Trojans controlled set four early on, much like the third set, to lead 8-4 following a service ace.
- Montevallo scored five straight points to regain the lead 10-9 after a kill from Michaela Henderson.
- The Falcons were outscored 13-6 by the Trojans after taking the lead; Montevallo trialed 23-16.
- Three kills down the stretch by the Falcons, including two from Dixon, weren't enough as Trevecca topped Montevallo 25-19 in the fourth set.
