TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Â
MONTEVALLO
- With its 59-57 win over the University of West Florida on Monday night, Montevallo has now won 10 games during the 2019-20 season, which ties last year's total with 14 games remaining. The last time the Falcons won 10-or-more games in a single season came during the 2017-18 season when UM went 15-15.
- Wade Lowman enters Saturday's contest with a 16.6 scoring average, which is the fifth highest in the Gulf South Conference. The next highest Falcon is Jonas Parker, who is 17th with a 14.2 scoring clip. Cedric Jackson rounds out the top 25 as the senior averages 12.2 points a game.
- This is Montevallo's first trip to the state of Tennessee this season. The Falcons have played three games in Georgia — earning three wins — with the rest coming within the borders of Alabama.
Â
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
- Â After opening GSC play 2-2, Christian Brothers has dropped its last three conference games to Lee University, UAH and West Alabama, respectively. Of those three games, only an 18-point loss to UWA happened inside Canale Arena.
- Nick Deifel is the only CBU player averaging double digits through this point of the season. The sophomore guard from Ohio, who has started and played in 12 games, is averaging 13.3 points a contest. Daryl Lewis and Brad Miller are knocking on the door with a 9.9 and 9.8 scoring average, respectively.
- While Christian Brothers is one of the top defensive teams in the conference — allowing only 66.4 points a game — the Bucs offense sits last in the GSC by averaging only 60.0 points a game.
