BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — For the fourth time this season, Montevallo's
Marisa Snodgrass has been named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Snodgrass, a 5-foot-4 guard from Hazel Green, Ala., scored 34 total points — 33 coming on 11 3-point baskets — in three games last week. She also pulled down 15 rebounds, dished out 12 assists and was credited with six steals in 31.0 minutes of game action over the three-game span.
Snodgrass also flirted with her first career triple-double at Christian Brothers on Saturday, Jan. 11, but fell three rebounds short of the feat. Despite the fact, she still managed to score 13 points and dish a career-high 10 assists against the Lady Bucs for her first career double-double.
Her rebound total against CBU was also a career high, while her 4 3-point baskets that day matched her career high.
The Montevallo women's basketball team returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. when the Falcons (12-2, 6-1) hosts Lee University (15-1, 7-1) at Trustmark Arena.
