SERIES HISTORY
- Montevallo and West Alabama, then known as Livingston State, first met on the hardwood on Dec. 12, 1964.
- West Alabama has the longest winning streak in the series' history when the Tigers won five games from 2001 to 2006. UWA can match that streak with a win Thursday night.
- Montevallo last beat West Alabama on Nov. 27, 2013 when the Falcons won 68-53.

- Last time out, forward Jonas Parker turned in a career performance as the junior exploded for a career-high 29 points on 9-of-19 shooting, which included three 3-pointers and eight free throws. It was the third time this season Parker has scored 20-or-more points in a game.
- Montevallo is currently riding its longest losing streak of the season as the Falcons have dropped back-to-back games after losing to Lee University and AUM, over the last week, by a combined eight points. Â
- Thursday's game against West Alabama will be the first of two consecutive games between the two teams. UM and UWA will meet in Montevallo on Thursday, Jan. 23, then turnaround and play in Livingston, Ala., on Thursday, Jan. 30. It's the first time Montevallo has played the same time during the regular season in two consecutive games since playing Tuskegee in Montevallo on Nov. 18, 2015, then in Tuskegee on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015.

WEST ALABAMA
- West Alabama is one of only three Division II teams that has not given up over 1,000 points this season; UWA's defense has allowed only 984 total points through 17 games. The Tigers' defense ranks as the best among Division II teams with 57.9 points allowed per game mark this season.
- UWA head coach Allen Sharpe is sitting at 99 wins as the Tigers' head coach. During Sharpe's tenure, West Alabama is 4-0 against Montevallo.
- LaJuan Hardy, who was named the GSC Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 3, leads the way for UWA with a 16.0 scoring average. Hardy also leads the team by averaging 5.9 assists a contest.
