SERIES HISTORY
  • West Alabama won the first game in the series history when the Tigers knocked off Montevallo, 66-91, in Livingston, Ala., on Nov. 12, 1979. UM earned its first win in the series the following year when the Falcons won, 94-86, in Montevallo.
  • Montevallo has not beaten UWA since earning a 76-68 victory in Montevallo on Nov. 23, 2013. Since then, West Alabama has won the last five straight games in the series' history.
  • West Alabama has the longest winning streak throughout the series as the Tigers have won six consecutive games on two different occasions: Jan. 10, 2000 to Feb. 11, 2002; Feb. 26, 2005 to Feb. 2, 2008. A win Thursday would give UWA its third six-game winning streak in the series.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

MONTEVALLO
  • With its 64-59 victory at AUM last Saturday, Montevallo has now won 13 games in a single season for the first time since the Falcons won 17 during the 2012-13 season.
  • The duo of Marisa Snodgrass and Paige Ward have been deadly from behind the 3-point arc this season. Ward, a senior, leads the team with 40 made 3-point baskets in 102 attempts (39.2 percent), while Snodgrass, the four-time GSC Freshman of the Week this season, has sank 31 3-pointers in 80 shots behind the 3-point arc (38.8 percent). Snodgrass' total is 16 more than the next closest Falcon, Kiya Sain (15).
  • Montevallo has won multiple games after losing a game this season. UM starts the season 3-0, then reeled off six straight wins after dropping a game. A 3-game winning streak following a loss to AUM to start the 2020 calendar year. The Falcons have already won one game after falling to Lee on Jan. 16.

WEST ALABAMA
  • After winning four of five games from Dec. 2 through Jan. 2, West Alabama has lost four of its last five games, all of which were GSC games. The Tigers lone win since Jan. 4 was a 68-55 victory over Alabama Huntsville.
  • UWA ranks near the top of the GSC in scoring margin. Through 15 games, West Alabama has scored 72.5 points, while holding opponents to 60.1. The plus-12.4 scoring margin puts the Tigers fourth in the conference.
  • Tazsa Garrett-Hammett and Bria Dent have been leading the way for West Alabama in the scoring column. The duo averages 14.9 and 14.4 points, respectively. Additionally, Dent averages 11.4 rebounds per game.
