TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Â
MONTEVALLO
- Montevallo concluded the 2019 calendar year with back-to-back nail-biting finishes with an 81-78 win at the University of West Georgia, before holding on to beat Shorter University, 86-85, in overtime to stay undefeated in Gulf South action.
- Cedric Jackson enters Saturday's contest after back-to-back career performances en route to being named the GSC Player of the Week before the holiday break. The senior from Orlando matched his career-high 23 points at UWG, before setting a new mark with a 24-point outburst at Shorter just days later.
- Wade Lowman has continued doing what Wade Lowman does. Lowman, a senior from Philadelphia, has scored in double figures in every game this season, while bringing down 10-or-more rebounds on three occasions. He also blocked a season-high four shots against the Wolves before the holiday break.
Â
AUM
- After beating Lee University, 73-71 on Nov. 23, AUM has dropped its last four GSC games by an average of 10 points. Last time out, the Warhawks dropped a 61-59 contest at the University of West Alabama on Jan. 2.
- AUM enters Saturday's game with a quartet of double-digit scorers with Darrion Taylor leading the way with a 13.7 average. Carlos Bell (12.5), Stanley Davis (11.8) and Maharrith Jackson (11.2) round out the trio with Joshua Moore (8.2) knocking on the door.
- In five GSC games, Jackson and Taylor are both averaging 13.6 points a game. Â
