TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Â
MONTEVALLO
- Montevallo is coming off its first loss — 69-50 to AUM — since dropping an 88-81 game at Tuskegee University on Nov. 15, 2019. Following the loss to the Golden Tigers, the Falcons went on a decade-long six-game winning streak, including picking up four Gulf South Conference victories in five league games.
- Speaking of AUM, the Warhawks were the first team this season to hold standout Shyan Flack to single digits in the scoring column. Flack had scored 11-or-more points in all 10 UM games prior to Saturday's contest against AUM, where the sophomore was held to only eight points on 3-of-11 shooting.
- In a season-high 22 minutes of game action, Nautika Philpot scored a season-high nine points on 4-of-10 shooting in Montevallo's last game. Philpot's previous season high was six points, which came at Shorter University on Dec. 21, 2019 when she made one field goal and sank four free throws.
Â
WEST FLORIDA
- The University of West Florida enters Monday's game having won only two of its last 10 games with a win coming against Spring Hill College on Dec. 7, before beating Southern Wesleyan on Dec. 21, 2019. However, the Argonauts have dropped their last two GSC games by a combined four points.
- Danielle Norquest is leading UWF is both scoring and rebounding averages per game. Norquest, a junior from Diamond, Ohio, is averaging 14.5 points and 11.8 rebounds in 34.3 minutes a game this season. She also leads the team with 26 steals while recording 12 double-doubles, including one in each of her last eight games.
- After scoring 78 points in its season-opening game on Nov. 8, West Florida has not reached the 70-point mark again this season. The closest the Argonauts got to that mark was 68 against Pensacola Christian on Nov. 15. UWF has scored 60-or-more points in three of its games this season.
