TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Â
MONTEVALLO
- Last time out, Montevallo earned a 65-54 victory over the University of West Florida to stay tied atop the Gulf South Conference standings. During the game, Shyan Flack and Aaliyah Rice scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, while Snodgrass chipped in nine. The trio also combined to bring down 20 rebounds and block five shots.
- Speaking of Flack, the sophomore forward enters Wednesday's game ranked fifth in scoring average in the GSC with a 16.6 mark. Flack has scored in double figures is 11 of 12 Falcon games this season.
- Home is where the heart is for the Falcons during the 2019-20 season as Montevallo has won seven of its 10 games — so far — inside Trustmark Arena. UM has wins over Clark Atlanta, Tuskegee, Saint Leo, Delta State, Mississippi College, Stillman and West Florida at home.
Â
LANE COLLEGE
- After starting the season 0-7, Lane College has responded by winning three of its last four games, including a pair of SIAC games against Albany State and Paine College. The Dragons beat Carver College, 69-59, on Nov. 11, but the result came in a game that was considered an exhibition.
- Lane College features only one player who is averaging double digits; Ra'keta Shelton comes into Wednesday's game averaging 13.0 points per game, while also leading the Dragons in the rebounding department by bringing down 8.3 rebounds a game. Shelton's 39 steals and 30.2 minutes a game also top the team.
- Through 11 games this season, Lane College has been credited with 227 turnovers compared to forcing 236. The Dragons have turned the ball over 11-or-more times in every game this season with a season-high 36 coming against Delta State on Nov. 15. When Lane College and Montevallo met in early December, the Falcons forced 17 Dragon turnovers. Â
