TEAM HIGHLIGHT

MONTEVALLO
  • Wade Lowman will enter Thursday's game as the most effective shooter in the Gulf South Conference. Through 21 games played this season, Lowman is shooting 58.6 percent for the season, which is 1.9 higher than the next closest player — West Georgia's Kovi Tate. Lowman has made 126 of 215 shots this season.
  • Last time out, Jonas Parker scored a career-high 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting, including two 3-point baskets and two free throws. Parker also brought down four rebounds, dished out three assists and was credited with one steal and one block. It marked the fifth time this season Parker had scored 20-or-more points in a game.
  • Despite losing its last seven conference games after starting the season 7-0 in the GSC, Montevallo has lost those games by an average of 10.0 points. All but one of those seven games have been 10-or-less points.

UNION
  • Just like its women's team, the Union men's basketball team is near the top in the Gulf South Conference in scoring margin as the Bulldogs average 77.5 points a game, while holding opponents to only 69.2 points. The plus-8.3 margin ranks third in the conference behind West Alabama and Valdosta State.
  • Union sits fifth in the GSC standings heading into Thursday's game. The Bulldogs are one of five teams with 10-or-more conference wins this season. West Florida can become the sixth with a win on Thursday, too.
  • Tyree Boykin enters Thursday's game as the conference's leading scorer with 20.0 points a contest. Boykin is the only GSC player to currently average 20-or-more points in a game this season. Below Boykin sits Lee's Ryan Montgomery and West Florida's Jon Brown, who were both held well below their scoring averages when facing Montevallo this season.
