SERIES HISTORY
  • The two teams met in Memphis, Tenn., earlier this season with Montevallo earning a 91-79 victory on Saturday, Jan. 11. In that game, Marisa Snodgrass was three rebounds shy of a triple-double as the freshman finished with 13 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds.
  • Since resuming the series in 2018, Montevallo and Christian Brothers have alternated wins and loss with the Falcons having won the last matchup.
  • Montevallo is looking for its first season sweep of Christian Brothers in school history as the two teams split in 1997 and 2019.

MONTEVALLO
  • Last time out, Montevallo dropped an 84-77 contest to Union University despite outscoring the Bulldogs during the fourth quarter. In the game, the Falcons finished with five double-figure scorers in Kourtnie Smith (16), Kiya Sain (15), Shyan Flack (11), Jordan Jones (11) and Snodgrass (10). Smith also brought down 10 rebounds to cap her double-double.
  • Montevallo, which is 10-5 in conference play, can take the next step towards clinching a conference tournament berth with a win and a loss by Mississippi College.
  • Montevallo enters Saturday's game with a 74.1 scoring average, while holding opponents to 69.0 points a game.
 
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
  • Since losing to Montevallo on Saturday, Jan. 11, Christian Brothers has won five of its next eight games, including a 66-65 win over West Alabama on Thursday, Feb. 13.
  • Christian Brothers features the league's leading scorer in Brynee Lytle, who enters Saturday's game with a 24.4 scoring clip in 775 minutes played over 20 games this season. Overall, Lytle has made 166 of her 363 attempted field goals, which include 46 of 125 from behind the 3-point arc and 109 of 123 from the free throw line. She dropped 32 points against the Falcons back in January.
  • Christian Brothers is still looking to keep its postseason hopes alive as the Bucs enter Saturday's contest with an 8-8 GSC record.
