SERIES HISTORY
  • The two teams met earlier this season — Jan. 16, 2020 — with Lee earning a 69-64 win in Montevallo. In that game, Jonas Parker scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting and brought down seven rebounds. Xavier Malcom (16) and Wade Lowman (15) also finished with double-digit points.
  • Montevallo is riding a three-game losing streak to Lee with the Falcons' last win, 68-67, coming on Jan. 6, 2018 in Montevallo.
  • Each of the last four games in the series has been decided by an average of 6.0 points.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

MONTEVALLO
  • Despite the five-game skid, Montevallo is still two games over .500 in the GSC and hanging onto the sixth spot in the conference standings with a two-game advantage over West Florida.
  • Despite missing a game, Wade Lowman remains the most effective shooter in the conference as his 57.7 shooting percentage is tops in the league by 1.2 percentage points. His 116 made field goals are second most in the GSC behind Union's Tyree Boykin, who has made 136 baskets in 20 games.
  • Montevallo is one of the best free throw shooting teams in the GSC as its 74.8 clip from the free throw line ranks the Falcons fourth of 13 teams. UM is one of only five teams in the league to have made 300-or-more free throws to this point of the season.

LEE
  • Like Montevallo's previous opponent — Valdosta State — Lee is sitting near the top of the conference in scoring average. Through 20 games this season, the Flames are averaging 77.3 points a contest, which is good enough for fourth among 13 league teams.
  • In terms of shooting percentage, no team shoots the ball more effectively than the Flames. Lee has made 566 of 1,155 field goals — a 49.0 percent — and sits atop the GSC by 2.5 percentage points over Valdosta State in the statistical category.
  • Ryan Montgomery is one of the league's best scorers with a 19.9 scoring average in 17 games played, which is 0.4 points shy of Union's Tyree Boykin for the top mark in the GSC. However, when the two teams played earlier this season, Montevallo held Montgomery to only three points for the game's first 37 minutes, before he exploded for 11 over the final three.
