LIVINGSTON, AL— The University of Montevallo men's tennis team fell 7-0 to the West Alabama Tigers on Wednesday afternoon at the Vaughan Tennis Complex in Livingston, Alabama. The Falcons are now 3-5 (2-2 GSC). West Alabama improves their record to 6-5 (2-2 GSC).
Juniors
James Bloomer and
Brecht Van Buggenhout were able to get things rolling early for the Falcons with a 6-2 win at the #3 doubles position, but West Alabama pulled out wins at #1 and #2 to take the doubles point. The team of Bloomer and Van Buggenhout is now 6-2 this spring.
The 16
th ranked Tigers were able to win each of the 6 singles matches, but not after being pushed to 3 sets by junior
Georg Trompler at line 1 and by freshman
Philippe Zehender at line 3.
